Objectives of the Internship

The Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Internship Programme was first run in 1991 and has run annually since then in order to:

• Provide outstanding Ukrainian university students from all walks of life the opportunity to experience Canada's democratic system of government 

• Give participants an opportunity to work alongside Members of Parliament and their staff from both sides of the House of Commons

• Build participants' knowledge of Canada's political system so that they can take this back to Ukraine

• Enable participants to get to know Canada and maintain the links of friendship that exist between Canada and Ukraine
