Vyshyvanka Day (День вишиванки, Всесвітній день вишиванки - укр.) is an international holiday dedicated to the original folk tradition of ethnic embroidered Ukrainian clothes — vyshyvanka. Each year, people worldwide celebrate this holiday by wearing one of the embroidered items, usually embroidered shirts.
Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Program participants and alumni are among those celebrating Vyshyvanka Day. Since the program's inception, CUPP participants have worn vyshyvankas every Vyshyvanka Day to Parliament Hill. Their initiative was supported by MPs, Senators, Cabinet Ministers (including the Prime Minister of Canada), Ambassadors and other officials.
